Nutty! March 30, 2008
Does anyone remember the Bravo show ”Showbiz Moms & Dads”? It was wonderful and spawned all those spin-offs like “Sports Moms & Dads” or the pet one. The parents were so delusional and I just felt so bad for the children. The new show on Vh1 with Danny Bonaduce kinda reminds me of it. Anyway, here is a clip featuring the Nutter family. There are like 7 of them living in a small NYC apartment so the dad can pursue his dream of becoming an actor. I miss this show.

Return to Sweet Valley March 27, 2008
I was overjoyed today when I read this headline:
Sweet Valley High re-release news
Bee and I loved reading these books! We would read every new series they put out about the Wakefield twins. We often reminisce about our favorite plot lines like the one with the “evil triplet” who tries to take over Elizabeth and Jessica’s lives and then it turns out that she has an “evil twin” too! Or the legacy books that traces the main characters ancestry! We even recently bought some at the local library’s book sale. So that headline really intrigued me.
Upon further investigation, I discovered that an All My Children star, Leven Rambin (who plays an autistic character and her older half sister which kind of sounds awesome and makes me want to watch) is portraying both chaste Elizabeth and slutty Jessica on the new covers. However the biggest changes are in the details. In a memo circulated by Random House, the updated content is highlighted:
-
Instead of driving a Red Fiat, the twins now drive a Red Wrangler Jeep.
-
Elizabeth is now the editor of the Sweet Valley High website where she has an anonymous blog called The Insider which I am sure will be the cause of all sorts for drama
-
The twins are no longer the “perfect” size 6 as they were in 1983 when the series premiered. They are now the “perfect” size 4.
Am I the only one that is disturbed about the change in the twins’ clothing size? Apparently, its not okay to be a size 6 in 2008? One needs to be a size 4 in order to be perfect. The whole thing is just really ridiculous, stupid and insulting to the readers. Their clothing size didn’t need to change; there is no reason for it. Why did the publishers need to draw attentiont to it? It just sends the wrong message to the young readers because no size is “perfect.”

Street Magic! March 26, 2008
I’m not quite sure how much work Bee gets done at her day-job because all I hear about are these YouTube videos she and her co-workers find. I found this one extremely hilarious so I’m sharing it with you all!

Say It Isn’t So March 26, 2008
I cannot even begin to imagine the hours I have wasted watching ANTM marathons. I’d wake up with the best of intentions planning to do laundry, clean my room and solve world hunger. But then I would see that Vh1 is showing the entire cycle 5 of ANTM and I’d be hooked for the rest of the day. It didn’t matter that I had already seen these episodes a million times before, I cannot turn away. So when I came across this article I was a little bit sad. What would ANTM be without Ty-Ty? Who would scream at the girls? Who would teach them to look sexy while sliding down a mirrored wall? But most of all who would teach them to SMILE WIT YA EYEZ???? It’d be tragic.

The Office March 26, 2008
I wish I could say this was a fun post on one our favorite shows “The Office” but it is sadly about the real life office I work in. There is not a cute Jim to flirt with or “form an alliance with” or even a politically incorrect and incompetent boss to laugh at. No sadly my office is amazingly boring, and today, extremly noisy with the buzz of a paper shredder. The “new kid” is shredding paper. I think he must have brought all of his old homework assignments with him from the last couple of semesters and now he sits there shredding it. It is rather annoying. Oh I think he is done!
No, I was wrong, paper jam, but you need not worry he has fixed it and is back to shredding.
I’ll let you know if anyone decides they need to run a thousand copies through the copy machine right by my desk, that should be exciting…….

Sixty Million Frenchman Can’t be Wrong, or Can They? March 25, 2008
So friends, I was sitting down to write this earlier in the day and I had a wonderful rant about the french but I was interrupted by class and now I have forgotten what it was I wanted to talk about! So, I guess I will just have to tell you that I think Paula Abdul’s outfit was totally wack tonight on American Idol, but it is Paula so….. I would also like to recommend a couple of fun french sites for you: http://lacoquette.blogs.com/ and http://www.ruerude.com/. Both are blogs by Americans who live in Paris. And here are a few images of France and the French just for fun: (more…)
